This Oscar award winning movie stars Katharine Hepburn, Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda. It’s a touching tale of building and restoring relationships set at the family’s lakeside vacation cabin.
Bourne Legacy, 2012
Fourth in the Jason Bourne series, this spy thriller is not short on action. Jeremy Renner’s character Alex Cross completes a training exercise and finishes at a remote snow-covered Alaskan log cabin. Spoiler alert – the cabin is blown up by a missile and goes up in a huge fireball!
Dirty Dancing, 1987
Set in 1963 amid log cabins and cottages, wealthy guests intermingle with working-class employees at a Catskills resort. Drama unfolds as resort dance instructor Johnny and resort guest Baby become dance partners and more. Just remember, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner!”
An Unfinished Life, 2005
This story, based on the novel of the same name, has buried anger, adventure and healing of old family wounds. Robert Redford, Jennifer Lopez and Morgan Freeman lead the cast in a film that even includes a bear attack on the rugged Wyoming plains. Much of the action happens in a log cabin situated on family ranch.
The Parent Trap, 1961 and 1998
Whether you watch the original 1961 Hayley Mills version or the 1998 remake with Lindsay Lohan, you’ll find a funny movie about twins separated at birth who accidentally reunite at summer camp. The twin girls get to know each other while being punished in the camp isolation cabin after getting caught for pulling pranks. The hijinks continue on a family camping trip as the girls try to reunite their estranged parents.
