Situated at the foot of Blue Mountain sits Camp Swatara, a faith-based summer camp and retreat. This rustic, natural setting allows for campers of all ages to connect with others in their faith while reflecting and growing their own relationships.
They came to Conestoga Log Cabins requesting an upgraded bathhouse to accommodate the needs of more campers. Several people on our team have personal ties to this camp and community, giving this project a greater impact. We sat down with our Construction Project Manager to learn more about the project and what makes it special.

Q: What was the main goal of this project at Camp Swatara?
A: The vision was to provide a large, versatile, and efficient bathhouse to comfortably accommodate campers of all ages and abilities. They wanted a layout that was gender-inclusive, ADA-compliant, and highly functional.
Q: What made this project stand out from others you’ve worked on?
A: Proximity. Camp Swatara is only about 30 minutes from our plant, which meant we could be hands-on from start to finish. We were able to visit the site often, personally contribute to the build, and ensure every step of the process aligned with our quality standards. Plus, Camp Swatara is a popular family destination in our community. Many of us have spent a day or two there enjoying the facilities.
Q: Are there any unique features of the bathhouse?
A: One feature that may go unnoticed by guests is the 7-foot-wide utility corridor running down the center of the building. This gives maintenance staff easy access to the mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, helping keep the bathhouse running smoothly for years with minimal disruptions.

Q: How does this project reflect the values of Conestoga Log Cabins?
A: It’s all about quality, reliability, and exceeding expectations. We’re not here to just sell buildings. We want to create long-lasting solutions that our customers will appreciate for years. This mindset is why many of our clients keep coming back!
Q: What do you think Camp Swatara’s staff and guests will appreciate most?
A: The camp director informed us that campers are already buzzing with excitement about the new bathhouse. When the Swatara Campers see and start using the facility, I believe it will exceed their expectations.
